Our story is one of expertise and commitment. The owner and director of Coldpoint Refrigeration, Robert McWhirter, has been at the forefront of refrigeration and air conditioning services in Karratha for 26 years, founding the company in 2014 to meet the Pilbara’s unique challenges.
From humble beginnings with a team of two, we’ve grown into an industry leader with over 20 employees across two fully operational branches in Karratha and Hedland. Our team includes 15 highly skilled tradespeople, four dedicated apprentices, three stellar administrators and a network of respected subcontractors.
We take pride in championing diversity and opportunity. We’re committed to Indigenous engagement, employing two Indigenous tradespeople, and inspiring future generations. This is possible through our partnership with the Clontarf Academy which empowers young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders through education and mentorship. As one of Pilbara’s largest employers of refrigeration apprentices outside Perth, we’re passionate about building careers and shaping leaders of tomorrow.
Coldpoint Refrigeration has installed, serviced, and replaced tens of thousands of systems. From fitting $3 million worth of split systems for BHP’s Newman housing upgrade to refrigeration and HVAC maintenance for 7 stores for Woolworths facilities maintenance in valued at $2.5 million.
